How People Learn

The highly respected book, How People Learn: Brain, Mind, Experience and School, was commissioned by the National Research Council.  It was edited by John D. Bransford, Ann L. Brown, and Rodney R. Cocking, and was published by the National Academies Press in 2000.  It is now available online with full text, for free and (in paperback) for sale.

Vanderbilt's Center for Teaching (an excellent resource for educators) considers this book to be worthy of its own page and cites it (five times) in their page about Metacognition.

I use it as an “expert witness” to support my claim (in a homepage summary and in depth) that using Design Process will increase transfers-of-learning between areas. (and thru time)
