This is a temporary page, with a temporary link from my home-page.
It isn't much, is just two apologies and an iou:
First a minor apology for mentioning my sister, because I knew you hadn't read my email — and knew there wouldn't be much reason to read it during a super-busy book tour — so I should have been thinking “there is no way that Rick could know anything about her.” (and her letters)
Then a major apology for saying too much – by “comparing our lives” – because doing this was foolish. Instead I should have said only what I originally had planned to say, that I highly respect what you have done and are doing.
And an iou for the message I said you would see by clicking the link for "traveling" in my homepage. Tonight I began writing a message, but wasn't sure what I wanted to say, or how. So instead I'll wait and do it later, sometime before Monday when you're back in Washington.
You have a super-busy life, with more to do than time to do it.* You want to make wise choices about life and — because “time is the stuff life is made of” — about using your time. I think you'll enjoy reading the insightful letters of my wonderful sister. You might also enjoy exploring my ideas about education or music.* Maybe. But if not we'll both be fine, and I won't bother you any more.
* Perhaps a little more time will be “free” while you're not on tour (before CA) or later (before ID-Spokane-MN) or (after Europe) in Autumn?
* Some ideas about education — learning more from experience by getting more experiences and learning more from the experiences — are in a section about traveling that ends with comments about The Making of Rick Steves Europe (with collaborative teamwork) and (for the overall journey) your Irreverent History. Some ideas about improvising music (by using chord progressions) are in a why-page and how-page.
